I Want Your Skulls, I Need Your Skulls!

Warhammer Skulls is back for another year with a host of discounts on games you can already buy, trailers and sparse details about new games and a couple of updates to some old classics.  You might not have expected to play the kleptomaniac Blood Ravens again, but Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Definitive Edition is coming with updates to make it run beautifully on modern hardware, offers a better camera and will include all the DLC.  It’s old enough they even had to port it to 64-bit so modders can have fun with it.  There will also be a third release of the original Space Marine which also gets a 64-bit Definitive Edition makeover.

As for the games you already own, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is getting a Siege Mode, Rouge Trader is getting both a free update and the long awaited second DLC will be arriving next month. It is currently on sale, which is good, and two new DLC have been announced, which is also good, but you need to buy them or pick up Season Pass 2, which is not good.  Owners of the first season pass have waited well over a year for the second DLC that they’ve paid for and because of that huge delay it would have been nice to throw a bone to those who have been somewhat patiently waiting.  Warhammer III will also be getting a new DLC that should let you make some rather interesting mutated horrors out of your enemies, so it’s not all 40K news.

Owlcat will be launching their second Warhammer 40K CRPG, Dark Heresy, which will let you try to deal with the mysteries of the Tyrant Star and the Noctis Aeterna.  It looks like you will get to play with an Ogryn in your party, which could be more than a little amusing.  Mechanicus II will also offer a chance to play with something you haven’t before, The League of Voltann!  These Space Dwarves were retconned years ago as being too unbalanced to use in Warhammer 40K and disappeared from the official Warhammer universe.  We will see if their resurrected armies can deal with Necrons.

You can also check out details on the upcoming Boltgun II and a free Typing of the Dead-like version of of the game you can try now.  There is more to see, like Blood Bowl 3 and Speed Freeks will finally launch.  If you played the Alpha of Speed Freeks, you should be getting it for free!  If you want to go truly crazy the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro Sit-to-Stand Metal Desk Warhammer 40,000 Edition is rather impressive and would match well with the Space Marine gaming chair.
