DarkFlash announces its new Floatron F1 housing. Clearly, we’re dealing with a reference with an atypical look, whether we like it or not, but the design is definitely off the beaten track. In fact, the main compartment is mounted on a large pedestal, which also houses the power supply unit!

Floatron F1: a pedestal-mounted case!

DarkFlash is a manufacturer that goes beyond the usual in terms of design, not hesitating to offer something more original, as we can see. Here, the case seems to stand on a solid base, which gives a false impression of size, since it’s not much bigger than a mid-tower reference. Yes, in terms of dimensions, the Floatron F1 measures 240 (W) x 431 (D) x 421 (H) mm.

Internally, we’re left with a fairly limited space that will only allow the mounting of micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards. For the graphics card, the space is 35 cm long, but there’s a clearance of 18.5 cm high for the CPU cooler. Finally, when it comes to the power supply, 20 cm depth is available.

The cooling section features nine 120 mm slots. These are distributed across the top and bottom of the case. But we have one slot at the rear and two on the side of the motherboard. As for watercooling, 360/280 mm radiators can be fitted. Incidentally, this base isn’t just for aesthetic reasons, as it also allows a certain amount of airflow for the graphics card. In fact, where the flared part is , there is a ventilation grid.

Now all that’s left is to find out how much this model will cost. The question now is also whether you like these unusual designs.

Here’s the DarkFlash product sheet!
